Additional Documents Unsealed in Federal Copyright Infringement Case Against YouTube and Google

Additional Documents Unsealed in Federal Copyright Infringement Case Against YouTube and Google

NEW YORK, April 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA)(NYSE:and VIA.B) today announced the unsealing of additional exhibits in support of its Motion for Partial Summary Judgment in its copyright infringement litigation against YouTube and Google. Google had initially sought to keep these documents under seal, but has agreed to have them made public.

In connection with the unsealing, Viacom's Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Intellectual Property and Content Protection, Stanley Pierre-Louis, issued the following statement:

"Today, nine additional exhibits filed with our opening brief are being released to the public for the first time after Google dropped its objections. Taken together, these exhibits make clear one of our core claims in the case: that Google made a deliberate, calculated business decision not only to profit from copyright infringement, but also to use the threat of copyright infringement to try to coerce rights owners like Viacom into licensing their content on Google's terms."

Mr. Pierre-Louis's full commentary and more information about the exhibits that have been unsealed can be found at: http://news.viacom.com/news/pages/viacomreleasesadditionaldocuments.aspx.
