The Unique Summit Supported by China's Three Major Telecom Operators in Asia TV Industry
SHANGHAI, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The 3rd annual Asia Future TV -- Asia Future TV 2010 -- emerges again and will be held May 19th-20th, 2010 at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, China, as one of the most exciting and significant annual events for both media and telecommunications in the world. Asia Future TV 2010 is co-organized by China Mobile Communications Association (CMCA) and Global Leaders Institute (GLI), officially supported by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the three major telecom operators in China (China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile), and is endorsed by the Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT), the Association for the Development of Enhanced TV Services and Interactivity (AFDESI), and the International Television Expert Group (ITVE).
The summit is held under the background that, as planned by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), all analog TV in China will be replaced by digital TV by 2015. On the other hand, New TV such as IPTV is booming since the number of broadband users has reached 100 million in China -- first in the world. Based on the success of Asia Future TV 2008 & 2009, the 3rd Annual Asia Future TV will again bring together over 200 industry leaders from governments, broadcasters, cable networks, telecom companies, media organizations, equipment providers and solution providers, with sharing of worldwide cases and 5 panel discussions.
"This year, the summit will pay more attention to the competition & harmonious development of digital TV & new TV," said Frank Chen, Project Manger. Thus, two tracks are specially designed for cable digital TV and IPTV. The major cable operators, such as CCTV International, Hangzhou Wasu, Beijing Gehua, Shenzhen Topway, USA Comcast, will mainly focus on the digital TV, while the famous telecom operators, such as China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Hong Kong PCCW, France Telecom, British Telecom, will discuss IPTV in depth. In addition, Zhang Haitao from SARFT; Zhao Bo from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; David Astley, Chief Executive of ABU and other broadcasters from Australia, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, the UK, etc. will all be invited and present opinions from different angles about the status quo, trends, opportunities, challenges, commercial models and other hot issues of the future of TV in Asia.
