LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- For Irish charmer Peter O'Meara, 2010 is starting with a bang. The busy actor begins the year in a special guest-starring role on the popular ABC drama 'The Forgotten' opposite Christian Slater. The series follows a team of dedicated amateur detectives as they try to solve murder cases once the police have given up. The O'Meara episode airs January 5th and finds the lead characters trying to solve a double murder.
"It's thrilling to work for Jerry Bruckheimer. It is easy to see why he is behind the most successful television dramas in the world -- he has a real knack for keeping the audience gripped. I am so grateful to have gotten this opportunity and hope it is just one of many times I work for him," said O'Meara.
Peter O'Meara next appears with two-time academy award nominee Amy Adams in the romantic comedy 'Leap Year' which was filmed in his native Tipperary, Ireland. '"Amy Adams is hilarious and one of the nicest people you could ever work with," O'Meara says. The movie hits theaters on January 8th.
The Irish actor is best known for his acclaimed performance as 1st Lt. Norman Dike in the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg HBO epic miniseries 'Band of Brothers' -- now the world's largest selling DVD box set. He's also enjoying more current recognition as Justin Long's friend 'Bill' in the hit movie 'He's Just Not That Into You.'
"I feel really blessed to have gotten to work on so many popular shows and movies thus far and am really proud of the work I'll be promoting later in 2010, as well. It must be the Irish luck!," O'Meara smiles.
When asked what he would like to do in the future, he responded, "I would like the opportunity to do more comedy. This business tends to see me as very dramatic. In reality, I am a total goof. There's nobody more likely to fall over and land in soup."
