COLUMBIA, Md., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Arbitron Inc. The Company previously had planned to utilize the Arbitron Portable People Meter(TM) radio ratings service to produce audience estimates in New Orleans beginning in late 2010.

The Company is not commercializing its PPM service in New Orleans in 2010 in part to help broadcasters in the market continue to rebuild from Hurricane Katrina.

Arbitron will maintain an ongoing evaluation of the market.
