WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thousands of parents have participated in the Smart TV, Smarter Me campaign that is part of a nationwide, non-profit initiative to improve families' television viewing habits at home. With parents searching for ways to channel their kids towards smarter TV shows this holiday season, the Smart TV Alliance provides families the opportunity to share their favorite smart children's series.
"Smart TV is bringing together parenting tools for 21st century moms and dads to simplify and improve how we shape our kids' TV watching," said Susan Scanlan, Co-Chair of the Smart TV Alliance, and Chair of the National Coalition of Women's Organizations. "Our goal is to make things simple -- helping parents easily find television programming that isn't a waste of time, but can expand kids' learning, inspire new thinking or provide some fun -- without the dumb."
The Smart TV, Smarter Me initiative, which lasts through December 25, incentivizes parents to share their best picks and use the online resource by offering chances to win holiday gift prizes. With over thousands of entries so far, parents have named 64 different children's programs from a variety of different broadcast and cable networks.
