WHAT: The 2009 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
WHO: President Barak Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama
-- Randy Jackson, American Idol host, music producer and musician.
-- Sheryl Crow, a multi-platinum, nine-time Grammy Award winning
singer-songwriter, three American Music Awards and a People's Choice
Award winner;
-- Common, a Grammy Award winning artist who has worked with producers
Kanye West, Will.i.am, Pharell and others;
-- Ray LaMontagne, a singer-song writer whose most recent album, "Gossip
in the Grain" debuted at number three on the Billboard Charts.
-- Jordin Sparks is a Grammy-nominated pop star and the 2007 winner of
American Idol.
-- Celtic Woman, a group comprised of four Irish vocalists and one Celtic
violinist, describe themselves as "putting a modern twist on a Celtic
sound."
-- Jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman, and jazz pianist Brad Mehldau will
perform a duet.
-- The United States Marine Band, under the baton of Colonel Michael J.
Colburn, will be this year's featured service band.
