Latin Song-Bird Ana Gabriel to Perform First Sonoma County Concert

Icon of Spanish Speaking World Makes Rare Appearance in Santa Rosa's Intimate 1600 Seat Theater

Known worldwide as "La Luna de Mexico," Latin songbird Ana Gabriel takes the stage at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa on November 19 for her first-ever Sonoma County concert. Gabriel, one of Mexico's most beloved female vocalists for two decades, is an icon in the Spanish speaking world and a passionate artist whose songs are unquestionable hits. Her fans in Latin America and the United States surpass the hundreds of thousands and her live performances sell out stadiums and arenas all over the world. The Santa Rosa concert presents a rare opportunity to experience Gabriel's legendary music in the intimate setting of the 1600 seat Ruth Finley Person Theater, where no seat is further than 75 feet from the stage.

For this talented composer, writer, producer and singer, success has been a story of hard work, passion, dedication, and talent. Like Juan Gabriel or Vicente Fernandez, with whom she not only shares her musical gifts but also a long stretching friendship, Gabriel is considered a top Mexican musical ambassador.

Her story begins 35 years ago in her native Tijuana, Baja California where she won the local Valores Juveniles competition as a composer and went on to win the famed OTI competition earning a recording contract with CBS Mexico. Gabriel then represented Mexico in the International Edition of the OTI competition in Portugal. Her second album, Sagitario and hits such as "Eso No Basta," "Y Aqui Estoy," and "Mar and Arena" brought Gabriel worldwide success. She began to experiment with all types of genres, from romantic ballads to rock infused music to powerful and traditional Rancheras. Mix in a voice immediately recognizable for its passionate, raspy quality and you have the much-loved music of Ana Gabriel.
