Information about Farm Aid 2009 Presented by Horizon Organic:

-- Farm Aid's HOMEGROWN Village will feature hands-on activities that
give concertgoers a chance to meet farmers, get their hands dirty, and
learn about the ways family farmers are enriching our soil, protecting
our water, and growing alternative fuels in addition to bringing us
good food.

-- Farm Aid 2009 Presented by Horizon Organic will feature food with
local or organic, family farm-sourced ingredients at concessions. The
concert is the biggest family farm restaurant in St. Louis and it's
open for one day only! Concessions include cheeseburgers, veggie
burgers, hot dogs, veggie dogs, jalapeno corndogs, bratwurst, chicken
tenders, chicken breast sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, sweet and
sour wasabi chicken wraps and veggie salad roll-ups. Concessions at
the show will also feature BBQ ham steaks, pork chops and brats from
Patchwork Family Farms and a farmers market presented by Sappington
Farmers Market where concertgoers can buy fresh fruit, baked goods and
treats.

-- Farm Aid is partnering with St. Louis businesses to help achieve zero
waste goals during the concert and add to the established Verizon
Wireless Amphitheater recycling program. With the help of Replenishing
the Earth and Route 66 Organics, all compostable waste at the concert
will be turned into a valuable agricultural material. Volunteers will
be on hand to help concertgoers differentiate between landfill-bound
trash; recyclables like plastic, and compostables like food waste and
certified compostable foodservice-ware. Additionally, the energy used
to produce the concert will be offset by the purchasing of renewable
energy certificates through Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Farm
Aid's concert greening initiatives are underwritten by Horizon Organic
and Silk Soymilk.

-- Farm Aid is calling on concertgoers to bring non-perishable food items
with them to the concert for a food drive that will benefit the Harvey
Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry and the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

-- Farm Aid 2009 Presented by Horizon Organic will feature performances
by Farm Aid president and founder Willie Nelson and board members Neil
Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, who will perform with Tim
Reynolds, as well as Gretchen Wilson, Jason Mraz, Wilco, Jamey

Farm Aid's mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews host an annual concert to raise funds to support Farm Aid's work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family-farmed food. Since 1985, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised nearly $36 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.
