SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Lee Byung-hun who has glamorously become a world star beyond a Korean Wave star through "G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra," a recently opened Hollywood action movie, appeared before fans at the "Iris" drama showcase event prepared as a special event of the Third Chungmuro International Film Festival (CHIFFS) that was held at the Cheonggyecheon Main Plaza in the afternoon of August 31.

At the "Iris" showcase event held that day, highlights of the drama being filmed across Japan, Hungary and Korea were disclosed for the first time and all the stars cast in the drama greeted the fans from the stage to publicize the drama.

"Iris," a drama that shows the action, betrayal and love of spies, getting people's attention with its casting of top Korean stars such as Lee Byung-hun, Kim Tea-hee, Jeong Jun-ho, Kim Seung-woo, Kim So-yeon and T.O.P(Choi Seung-hyeon), will be broadcast starting October 14.

Of the stars, Lee Byung-hun, who plays the role of Kim Hyeon-jun, a spy of Choi Jeong-ye who has a brain of a genius, is cold but acts boldly, said of the "Iris" filming, "I had a tight schedule that it felt like taking 20 movies, but I am doing my best and a high-quality drama will be completed."

He engaged in the filming of "Iris" right after the recent opening of the movie "G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra," such that fans questioned him showing concern about his physical health, to which he answered, "To keep physically healthy, I make efforts not to skip meals. However, because of the busy filming schedule, it is lamentable that I do not have much personal time."

Further, he said, "Thanks to the great staff, we are perfectly preparing against accidents that action scenes are not burdensome."

"Iris," planned to be broadcast on October 15 for the first time, is Korea's first blockbuster spy action drama that describes the spies' breathless action, betrayal and romance.

Many spectators and tens from the Korean and foreign press gathered to see the drama's main actors, including Lee Byung-hun, the protagonist, at the showcase held as a special event of CHIFFS.

Lee Byung-hun, rising as a world star, is planned to show his charisma of a strong man full of charm with Kimura Takuya, a Japanese top star who has maintained his top position without movement for 15 years as a member of SMAP and Josh Hartnett, a Hollywood star, in "I Come With the Rain," the second global project movie following "G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra."
