mSpot(R) Mobile Movies(TM) Service to Reach Mass Audience, Available Across All Major U.S. Carriers and on Thirty Handsets Including the iPhone Features Titles from Paramount Studios and Universal Studios Home Entertainment
PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Popular mobile entertainment site mSpot.com today debuts mSpot® Mobile Movies(TM), the world's first streaming full-length movies available on dozens of leading mobile phones across all major U.S. carriers. The unprecedented new service allows fans to simply rent and watch movies on their phones when they want - no downloading, no waiting, no syncing to PC needed.
To access mSpot Mobile Movies, consumers use a credit card to rent and stream individual movies for $4.99 each. Then they simply use their phone's web browser to go to m.mspot.com and access the movies instantly, playing and pausing as they like. mSpot's Mobile Movies selection of films includes titles such as "The Reader," "Zach and Miri Make a Porno" and "Fast & Furious."
mSpot's Mobile Movies are available on over 30 different cell phone models, including the iPhone, smartphones and some high-end feature phones, and across all major carriers. In the coming months, the service will be available on over a hundred different phone models.
"The launch of Mobile Movies makes mSpot the first company to give movie lovers what they want, when they want it," said mSpot CEO Daren Tsui, whose favorite movies include "Mission Impossible" and "Airplane!" "Whether you're lounging on the beach, taking the train, or just relaxing at home, we're making movies instantly accessible to consumers everywhere."
mSpot has inked partnerships with major studios, including Paramount Studios and Universal Studios Home Entertainment, giving mSpot customers direct access to the movies they love the most. Soon, mSpot expects to announce additional studio partnerships, giving its fans access to thousands of movies across over a hundred different mobile phones.
mSpot knows what mobile consumers want out of their phones. A recent survey found that 78% of respondents were more likely to use a mobile movie service that doesn't require any downloads or wait time, and 74% said it would frustrate them to have to wait 10 minutes or longer for a mobile download.
