3D Entertainment and N3D LAND Productions Join Forces on the Production and Distribution of 'Sea Rex 3D'

3D Entertainment and N3D LAND Productions Join Forces on the Production and Distribution of 'Sea Rex 3D'

- The T-Rex of the Seas Bites into Viewers at IMAX(R) Theatres in Spring 2010 - Twenty-Two Minutes of the Film Already Completed in 3D

LOS ANGELES, PARIS and LONDON, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- 3D Entertainment proudly announced today its acquisition of the worldwide distribution rights for "Sea Rex 3D," directed and written by Pascal Vuong and Ronan Chapalain. 3D Entertainment is also co-producing the action-packed 40-minute motion picture with Paris-based N3D LAND Productions, which initiated the project four years ago. The film is slated for release in 3D and 2D at IMAX Theatres in the US in Spring 2010.

"We are thrilled to enter into a full agreement with N3D LAND Productions' creative team on this highly anticipated IMAX theatre film," said Francois Mantello, Chairman and CEO of 3D Entertainment. "Thanks to the latest paleontological research and state-of-the-art computer generated images, 'Sea Rex 3D' takes audiences on an extraordinary voyage two hundred million years back in time for an exhilarating encounter with the T-Rex of the seas on the world's largest screens. This also marks a new step for our company, as it is the first time we have acquired the rights to a film produced primarily by a third party, thus reaffirming our commitment to becoming a prominent distributor in the IMAX theatre industry."

"We are extremely pleased to have 3D Entertainment join us as a partner in this one-of-a-kind adventure," commented Vuong and Chapalain, both of whom are making their first foray into the IMAX cinema industry. "For over 180 million years during the Mesozoic era, marine reptiles, with their daunting size and natural abilities, ruled the ancient depths before dinosaurs even appeared on Earth. 'Sea Rex' brings to life this fascinating yet little-known underwater world which was home to over 400 marine species including the film's star, the 40-foot long Mosasaur, one of the largest and deadliest marine predators Earth has ever known."

Through a combination of groundbreaking CGI animation and real sea landscapes, the film recreates photo-realistic scenes of life during the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. It also features Wegener's continental drift theory and pays tribute to the first discoverers of a science founded 200 years ago by naturalist and zoologist Georges Cuvier.

"Sea Rex 3D" has benefited from the close collaboration of renowned international scientists such as Dr. Nathalie Bardet from the National Museum of Natural History in Paris and Dr. Benjamin Kear of Melbourne's La Trobe University. Strategic alliances have also been struck with the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis (WY), Paris' National Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of Science & Industry's La Geode.

The film is produced by N3D LAND Productions' Catherine Vuong and Francois Mantello, and features an original score by Frank Marchal. 3D Entertainment's theatrical sales and marketing units will distribute "Sea Rex" to IMAX Theatres in both 3D and 2D format. The film, which will entertain and educate moviegoers of all ages, will have a staggered release beginning next spring in North America and later on in Europe and Asia.
