KEYSTONE, Colo., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- CABLELABS SUMMER CONFERENCE -- Sigma Systems, an industry leader in Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, will demonstrate at the CableLabs Summer Conference that cable TV operators can now segment audiences to better compete for advertising dollars, and use the same architecture for other advanced advertising initiatives such as interactive, cross-platform, and their own internal marketing campaigns. "The ability to segment and target audiences is key for cable TV operators to attract advertisers," said Brian Cappellani, CTO of Sigma Systems. "Audience segmentation also allows operators to engage their subscribers through personalized, addressable ads."
Sigma Systems' Subscriber Information Service (SIS) allows cable operators to securely manage subscriber data in customer profiles and generate audience qualifiers that define new and more granular customer segments that advertisers can use to target their campaigns and leverage dynamic ad insertion for linear and video on demand advertising. Operators can also use Sigma's SIS for interactive advertising, such as for providing RFI fulfillment responses information on tru2way and EBIF platforms, and for rolling out advanced advertising in a multi-screen environment, including for broadband and mobile devices.
At the CableLabs 2009 Summer Conference, Sigma Systems will demonstrate its Subscriber Information Service's ability to qualify and segment audiences for TV advertising in compliance with the SCTE 130 standard. Sigma Systems will also show how exposing customer information in its SIS enables operators to cross-promote and up-sell additional services to subscribers, such as promoting premium movie channels to non-premium digital subscribers who like to watch movies.
"An added high-value benefit of our SIS is its ability to authorize subscriber access to TV and premium content across any access point, including broadband," added Cappellani. "This means operators could use SIS is multiple ways, such as for advertising via TV, mobile and broadband; to promote additional services to existing subscribers; and even to activate broadband video services."
At the CableLabs Summer Conference, cable operators can view live demos by Sigma Systems and some of its advanced advertising partners, including ARRIS, BlackArrow, OpenTV, This Technology, and Nielsen.
