2009 Game Developers Conference(R) China Joins Forces With Video Games Live to Grow Cultural Appreciation of Games in China

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Video Games Live (VGL), the world's largest and most successful video game orchestra, will be performing at the Shanghai Hongku Soccer Stadium on October 13, in conjunction with the closing day of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) China 2009. A complimentary ticket to VGL will be issued to those who purchase a GDC China VIP Pass before September 19, 2009. GDC China presented by Think Services, a division of United Business Media, will return to the Shanghai Convention Center, October 11-13 of this year.

VGL is a video game based orchestral concert series featuring video footage, synchronized lighting, and on-stage interactive segments that demonstrate the wonders of video game music. VGL has been growing in popularity since its sold out debut in July of 2005, and has attracted more than 300,000 concert goers across the Americas, Europe, Oceana, and Asia. Created by renowned music producers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, Video Games Live integrates video game classics with the most current tunes from online games, creating an immersive experience for the audience. This will be VGL's first showing in China.

"Together with GDC China, VGL aims to create an event that caters to the interests of the local Shanghai audience and strengthen Chinese support for the culture and art of video games in China," explained Meggan Scavio, GDC China Event Director.
