One-Man Band, Singer - One-Man Video Crew, Cast - He Delivers Strong Message in Song About 'Courtroom Brutality'

INDIANAPOLIS, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- As if it wasn't enough that Don Meehan boasts of a world record overdubbing 233 voices (for 233 years) on the "America The Beautiful" cut of his new CD, "He Hopes," he went a step further on another song called "Courtroom Brutality." Don wrote it, arranged, produced, directed, played all the instruments, sang it, engineered, edited, mixed and mastered it. He then spent six months producing the music video - doing the script, production, directing, camera, lighting, audio editing, acting, and finally, edited the "Final Cut." The song is about the trials and tribulations of his nephew in a Texas court.

Don conducts a recording session in the video with everyone joking, laughing and playing, with some comedy to hook the viewer's attention before delivering the serious message of the song. As a gag, the band lip-syncs part of the Hallelujah Chorus, which Don overdubbed himself singing another "chorus of one." He mimicked Hank Williams Jr., Toby Keith, E Street Band's Little Steven Van Zandt, Larry the Cable Guy and "the Donald" as a thumb-playing guitar player with a comb-over. He played all the acting roles of "the 19 Dons."

Don Meehan's name appears as engineer on millions of recordings of the stars, with over thirty RIAA "Multi-Platinum" certifications, and counting. Google "Don Meehan record" and thousands of pages appear with many of them about Don.

Don's label, Barkroom Records, is now promoting "Courtroom Brutality" to shout the message loud about questionable actions in courtrooms. One experience that left an indelible mark on Don with a desire to help the wrongly convicted was his co-production and engineering of Bob Dylan's recording of "Hurricane," which helped free imprisoned Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. It was the title song of the 1999 Denzel Washington movie, "The Hurricane."

Don Meehan hasn't stopped since leaving Sony Music in New York, where, when he wasn't making hits for the stars, he was in his home studio doing his "one man" thing with his own songs. The CD, "He Hopes," contains many of those songs.

Don feels that constant involvement with music and sounds has a profound positive effect on one's brain, and keeps one young in his/her thinking and doing. He believes that his long history of playing and singing, his keen sense of timing and mixing various voices and instruments, and experimenting with sounds, beats and harmonies have all contributed to a sharper and healthier brain.
