DETROIT, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Motown Recording Artist KEM and Project Producers, LLC are proud to officially announce that the KEM Live @ Mack & Third: A Call to Service - free concert and food drive will now take place on Sunday, August 30, 2009. The event was originally scheduled for August 9th. Due to an overwhelming response from KEM fans, community partners and local organizations, the event date has been changed in order to ensure the ability to accommodate as many people and organizations as possible.

"We have received so much positive feedback about the need for an event like Mack & Third, and people have been stepping up to donate services, volunteer or asking how they can be a part of the day," said Toya Hankins, president of Project Producers, LLC, the Artist Management Company for KEM. "We are so excited about helping fulfill this need, and we believe that the additional planning time will give all parties involved the ability to serve our community to the highest extent possible."

The purpose of KEM Live @ Mack & Third: A Call to Service is to gather food for the area's homeless shelters and food banks, to provide a getaway for Detroiters from the stresses of the economy, to feed the homeless and others in need and to encourage people to volunteer and give.

"KEM Live @ Mack & Third: A Call to Service" is supported by: The City of Detroit, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, YWCA of Metropolitan Detroit, Pepsi, McDonald's and Clear Channel.

The day-long event will feature a private motivational message presented to the homeless by KEM, followed by a meal. The event will open to the general public at 2:00 p.m. featuring live entertainment, food and wares vendors and community organizations. The day will culminate with a free concert performance by KEM which will be streamed LIVE on the internet.
