TV Land Announces New Premiere Date for Highly-Anticipated Joan Rivers Series 'How'd You Get So Rich?' and Comedic Hidden Camera Show 'Make My Day'
Both Shows to Premiere Back-to-Back on Thursday, August 6 at 9 P.M. ET/PT
NEW YORK, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- TV Land announced today that it is making changes to its summer schedule as "How'd You Get So Rich?" starring Joan Rivers and the comedic hidden camera series "Make My Day" will now premiere on Thursday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT respectively. It was previously announced that they would premiere on Wednesday, August 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The series will premiere in TV Land PRIME, the network's new primetime programming block designed to appeal to the attitudes, life stage and interests of people in their 40s.
Premiering on Thursday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, "How'd You Get So Rich?" stars the notoriously uncensored gossip diva Joan Rivers as she explores the lifestyles of the fabulously rich and lucky in this 30-minute series. Rivers takes viewers on a journey to meet the millionaires who struck gold as she tours the most lavish and extravagant homes and introduces them to folks who made a lot of money in really interesting ways -- the way only Joan can. From the inventor of the BillyBob Teeth who grew up dirt poor, to the pioneer of the Infomercial who peddles goodies like Obama coins, and "Mr. Mardi Gras" who still lives in the same house as when he came into his riches, to a Telecommunications tycoon who built an empire by starting out going door to door selling cordless phones, and takes Joan on a tour of the place he now calls home -- the Versace Mansion. All of these millionaires made their money in the most unexpected and interesting ways. "How'd You Get So Rich?" is a six-episode series from Mark Burnett Productions and Zoo Productions, Inc. Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens serve as executive producers.
Following "How'd You Get So Rich?" is the premiere of the six-episode show "Make My Day" at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. This comedic hidden-camera series provides a window into one day in the life of an unsuspecting participant. Tune in as cameras capture the action as they experience weird coincidences, extraordinary situations and surprise celebrity appearances for one whole day. Participants include a single, loveable mother whose "day is made" when she gets the chance to strut down a catwalk and meets celebrities like Vivica A. Fox and Montel Williams, a caring father and baker known as "Mr. Cupcake" who becomes a local news celebrity and a hard-working guitar-store owner and die-hard NY Giants fan whose dreams come true when he meets football player Amani Toomer. "Make My Day" is a 30-minute series produced for TV Land by Embassy Row ("Power of Ten" and "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire"), Monkey Kingdom and Sony Pictures Television. Michael Davies serves as the executive producer.
