IMAX appoints Gary Moss Chief Operating Officer
TORONTO, June 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq: IMAX; TSX: IMX) today announced the appointment of Gary Moss to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer, effective July 20th, 2009. Based in Toronto, Mr. Moss will be primarily responsible for overseeing the Company's operations, leading and assisting the organization as it executes the Company's business strategy, refining performance management systems and focusing on the integrated operation of all business units. Mr. Moss will report directly to Richard L. Gelfond, IMAX's Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Moss, 50, is Canadian and a 15-year veteran of the media and entertainment industry. Prior to joining IMAX, Mr. Moss served for four years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Concert Productions International (CPI), a major promoter of rock concerts and tours in North America, and an operating subsidiary of Live Nation Inc. Mr. Moss worked with EMI Group Canada Inc., as Vice President, Finance for nine years, and with Sega of Canada, Inc. as Vice President of Finance for two years. Throughout his career, Mr. Moss has provided strategic and operational leadership across all areas of business. Mr. Moss is a Chartered Accountant and received his Bachelors of Commerce from University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
