Cox Launches MyPrimetime On DEMAND in Hampton Roads

Cox Launches MyPrimetime On DEMAND in Hampton Roads

~ Cox customers can now enjoy top primetime series anytime, free of charge ~

CHESAPEAKE, Va., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Hampton Roads customers now have On DEMAND access to hits from networks including NBC, Cartoon Network, FX, TBS, USA and TNT, with the addition of a new MyPrimetime category in the On DEMAND menu.

Episodes of select top primetime series will be available anytime, free of charge to Cox Digital Cable customers, starting the day after they air on the network. Additional content will be available later this summer.

"The launch of MyPrimetime in Hampton Roads will make customers' television viewing even more exciting and flexible. We are thrilled to be able to launch this enhancement for our customers. Cox's On DEMAND library gives customers an opportunity to sample shows they may have missed, but haven't had the chance to view. And best of all, programs can be viewed whenever it's convenient," said Gary McCollum, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cox Hampton Roads.

With MyPrimetime, Cox Digital Cable customers will have On DEMAND access to this season's episodes of NBC favorites including Heroes, 30 Rock, Chuck, and Medium; FX's Rescue Me; TB's House of Payne and Meet the Browns; TNT's new hit Leverage, and more.

Also, with On DEMAND, Cox Digital Cable customers have access to a library which includes thousands of hours of movies and shows, including HD content and exclusive programming. The majority of On DEMAND programming is free and all available with the touch of a button. Customers can watch what they want, when they want by tuning to the On DEMAND menu on Channel 1.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jen Garrett adds, "Customers should know that My Primetime On DEMAND shows contain advertising which cannot be skipped using the playback control buttons on the remote. However, episodes from My Primetime On DEMAND contain fewer ads than those seen during regular broadcasts. By preserving the advertising in My Primetime episodes, Cox and participating networks can offer Cox Digital Cable customers high-quality programming at anytime for free."

Enhancements to On DEMAND, Interactive Program Guide and Digital Video Recorder

Along with the launch of MyPrimetime are several enhancements to Cox's On DEMAND service. These enhancements include improved navigation, faster and easier use of the Search function, and faster, more reliable performance.

In addition to On DEMAND enhancements, Cox also announced advancements to its Interactive Program Guide (IPG) and Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Among the improvements to IPG include new options for setting Favorite Channels and new sorting options so customers can more quickly and easily find the exact programming they want to watch. The "Disk Usage Indicator" now displays information for available hard disk space in a new format. All these developments are designed to further enhance the customer experience.
