In the news release, "HDNet's 'Dan Rather Reports' Presents an Interview With the 'Money Man to the World,'" issued 22-Jun-2009 by HDNet over PR Newswire, we are advised by the company that the name "Dominique Strauss-Kahn" should consistently be spelled "Dominique Strauss-Kahn" rather than "Dominique Strauss-Khan" as originally issued inadvertently in the third, sixth and ninth paragraphs. The complete, corrected release follows:

HDNet's 'Dan Rather Reports' Presents an Interview With the 'Money Man to the World'

Rather discusses the future of the world economy with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Tuesday, June 23 at 8:00 pm ET

DALLAS, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- This Tuesday, HDNet's Dan Rather Reports will feature a report on rescuing eastern European countries from economic collapse. With rare, behind-the-scenes access, the program travels to Hungary with representatives of the International Monetary Fund. It is there that these representatives, on the scene everyday in Budapest, watch billions of dollars -- many of them U.S. dollars -- being loaned to countries, like Hungary, who are on the brink of economic collapse.

In Vienna, Austria, Dan Rather had access to one of the most Important men in the world right now - and one most have probably never heard of - Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund or, the "Money Man to the World."

Strauss-Kahn is a French Socialist who holds the keys to what one could call a "global emergency bank," with the power to save entire nations from economic collapse.

The International Monetary Fund is a U.N. Agency with its own charter, and almost every country in the world is a member. It works much like a credit union, where countries will invest as shareholders, by lending money to the IMF.

Nations in trouble can then borrow from the IMF, by agreeing to clean up their acts and to get their books in order.

In Tuesday's program, Rather speaks to Strauss-Kahn about how his organization will execute its biggest mission yet, fighting an economic crisis that has brought down four governments so far. Since the credit crisis began in the United States last fall, fifteen countries have had to seek emergency loans from the IMF to avoid collapse - half of those in eastern Europe.

So, why would the largest economies in the world -- already under enormous pressure and uneasy currencies -- go out of their way to lend money to the IMF?

"A collapse in the eastern European economy immediately has, as a result, a collapse in the western economy," said Strauss-Kahn. "And then, at the end of the day, how many people in Europe will go on buying U.S. products if they don't have money anymore? You have to be interested, especially when you're the biggest economy, like the U.S. You have to be interested in all your countrymen around the world."

Strauss- Kahn also points out that throughout history, the economic collapse in one or more countries has then led to chaos and civil and international war, so one of the main goals for establishing the IMF was to make the institution an important part of the peace process.

Dan Rather Reports premieres on HDNet, Tuesday, June 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET with an encore presentation at 11:00 p.m. ET to accommodate West Coast Prime Time.
