DETROIT, May 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wayne State University in Detroit will host the MovingMedia Student Film Festival May 22-24. The festival showcases the work of Wayne State students, and, for the first time, invites entries from peer institutions in southeast Michigan including Madonna University, the University of Windsor, Eastern Michigan University, Lawrence Technological University and the College of Creative Studies.
Submissions are due by May 8. Each collegiate team may submit up to three entries in any of five categories that include documentary, narrative, animation, music and experimental. Professional and academic industry experts will adjudicate the submissions.
"Given the re-emergence of the film industry in Michigan, MovingMedia's regional focus sends an important message to aspiring local filmmakers," said Kelly Gottesman, multimedia specialist, Department of Communication.
