LG Electronics Introduces Sleek Designs, Advanced Technologies for More Customized Guestroom Experience
Showcases New Plasma HDTV Line with Single-Layer Design, LCD HDTVs with Pro:Centric(TM) Technology
LAS VEGAS, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics, a leader in delivering stylish design and advanced technology to the hospitality industry, highlighted plasma HDTVs with a stunning new single-layer design and a new series of LCD HDTVs with an applications-based platform called Pro:Centric this week at the 2009 Hospitality Design (HD) Expo (booth #2215).
"When hotels integrate new in-room technology to enhance the guest experience, attention to design takes on even more importance as rooms and suites are equipped with larger HDTVs," said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA Business Solutions. "LG's new plasma HDTV series, with its appearance of a single pane of glass, brings a sleek, modern feel to any guestroom while delivering the ultimate HDTV experience."
Where Technology Meets Design
Introducing advanced technology coupled with sophisticated design, LG's PS60C plasma HDTV line offers a stylish high-definition viewing experience for guests. In 50- and 60-inch class sizes, the PS60C's single-layer flat panel design gives the illusion of a single pane of glass, for a stunning new look that complements any hotel environment. All of LG's new HDTV models feature Invisible Speakers, tuned by renowned audio expert Mr. Mark Levinson. The speakers are hidden in the bezel of the HDTV to give a sleek appearance, streamlining the overall look of the hotel room and hiding unsightly speaker grills.
The PS60C series is ideal for suites or public areas with its 1080p resolution offering guests a "Full HD" experience for optimum viewing of HD content in the lobby or suite. Catering to hotel guests who want the most out of their in-room movies, the PS60C is equipped with LG's new Clear Voice II Technology. This feature automatically raises dialogue when background noise in a scene swells, such as in an action sequence, for a more enjoyable movie-watching experience.
Ideal for hotels looking to reduce energy costs and provide "green" accommodations for their guests, the PS60C is Energy Star(R) 3.0 compliant and provides multiple manual and automatic options for energy conservation, such as Intelligent Sensor and three mode power saving levels. Integrated Technology Solutions
In LCD HDTVs, LG is introducing the first Energy Star 3.0 lodging pay-per-view (PPV) compatible sets with Pro:Centric(TM), the flexible new applications platform. Pro:Centric will provide guests with timely information at their fingertips. Model LG700H, available in 32-, 37- and 42-inch class sizes, is LG's first Pro:Centric enabled LCD HDTV that allows hoteliers to customize the entire in-room experience. This includes the ability to specialize a welcome menu with unique authoring tools and java-enabled technologies.
With this unique platform, hotels can deliver guest services and features such as room service menus, spa services, and golf course schedules at the touch of the remote. Without the need for additional hardware such as set-top boxes, Pro:Centric helps eliminate clutter from the room. Through an Electronic Interactive Program Guide, guests have access to advanced channel search and selection capabilities.
The LG700H is the first Pro:Centric model to also incorporate the industry-standard Pro:Idiom(R) digital rights management (DRM) system. This system provides secure, rapid and broad deployment of HDTV and other high-value digital content as well as MPEG-2/MPEG-4 H.264 technologies to increase the number of satellite HD channels, providing guests with more entertainment options.
LG's Pro:Centric products are also compatible with Control4 automation technology. With Control4 Suite Systems, hoteliers are able to create an automation solution that allows hotel guests to control lighting, room temperature, draperies and entertainment systems through the television with a single remote control. Hoteliers can also use Control4 to program green settings and automate other functions for a more energy efficient property. Control4 technology is now available for integration with LG products.
Modern Communications with Digital Signage
LG's digital signage options allow hotels to share information with guests in a more creative and engaging way - from hotel directories and special menus to exercise facilities and more. Through LG's unique touch screen (model M4212T-BA), guests can access maps and other interactive way-finding features at the touch of the screen. With 3M DST integrated touch film and fast touch response, the M4212T-BA brings a modern flare to any hotel lobby.
Other digital signage applications demonstrated at HD Expo include models M4714C-BA and M4212C-BA which feature split zoom capabilities for unique video wall applications (5 x 5 maximum) and the ability to be used in portrait mode with viewing angle and life expectancy enhancements for a variety of installation options. All LG Electronics M-series monitors are designed from the component level to be applicable for constant use.
Blue Vision Television Mirrors
LG Electronics' alliance with Blue Vision Television Mirror combines artful design with advanced high-definition technology for boardrooms, hotels, restaurants and casinos. A unique "TV Mirror" discreetly incorporates TV technologies behind a mirror to enhance the design of commercial and public spaces such as bathroom, hotel lobbies, among others. The TV Mirror combined with LG's LCD HDTV technology can be used in a host of innovative applications allowing the HDTV to enhance the space in new and interesting ways while combining two functions in one and saving valuable space.
