Dave Pistacchio Named President, Optimum Lightpath

BETHPAGE, N.Y., May 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE:CVC) today announced the promotion of Dave Pistacchio to President of Optimum Lightpath. In this position, Mr. Pistacchio will continue to be responsible for driving Optimum Lightpath's growth as a premier provider of business communications with advanced Ethernet-based data, Internet, voice, video transport solutions, hosted and managed services to businesses across the New York metropolitan area.

Mr. Pistacchio, 48, joined Optimum Lightpath in 2005 and has guided the company through its evolution to Metro Ethernet to provide voice, data and video services to medium and large businesses in the New York metropolitan area. This game changing move has resulted in accelerated business growth and significant industry recognition. Today, Optimum Lightpath's network extends more than 3,700 route miles and is connected to over 3,300 buildings representing an 80% growth in on-net buildings since 2005.

"Under Dave's direction, Optimum Lightpath has empowered businesses by delivering the network they need to change the way they work: in the office, the classroom, the hospital, the community and on the trading floor," said Tom Rutledge, Chief Operating Officer of Cablevision Systems Corporation. "This year marks strong growth with a 48% increase in new Ethernet revenue over last year's first quarter. We are pleased to announce this well-deserved promotion in recognition of Dave's tremendous contributions to the company."

Under Mr. Pistacchio's leadership, Optimum Lightpath has received numerous awards including Frost & Sullivan's North American Ethernet Service Emerging Company of the Year (2008), Heavy Reading's Ethernet Service Provider of the Year for Regional Innovation (2007) and the Metro Ethernet Forum's (MEF) Best North American Regional Service Provider of the Year (2007). In 2006, Optimum Lightpath was one of the first service providers in the world to earn Carrier Ethernet certification from the MEF. And, this year marked the eleventh straight year the New York State Public Service Commission recognized Optimum Lightpath with its Commendation of Excellence.

Mr. Pistacchio, who resides on Long Island, joined Cablevision in 1994 and has served in several senior executive positions in Information Technology throughout Cablevision and Rainbow Media including EVP & CIO. He played a key role in developing technologies that enabled the launch of Cablevision's advanced digital product offerings including iO TV(R) digital television, Optimum Online(R) and Optimum Voice(R). Mr. Pistacchio's leadership was also instrumental in the development of the industry's first self-installation model for digital services, as well as in the deployment of the advanced systems that supported the company's growth.
