Fundacion Azteca and Fundacion Azteca America Present 50th Movimiento Azteca to Increase Awareness and Raise Funds for Prenatal and Natal Care
MEXICO CITY, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Fundacion Azteca in Mexico and Fundacion Azteca America in the United States are proud to join efforts to commemorate the 50th Movimiento Azteca. Both organizations are part of Grupo Salinas, a Mexican conglomerate founded by entrepreneur Ricardo B. Salinas. Through a month-long campaign, the 50th Movimiento will raise awareness and funds to improve the well-being of both mother and child during pregnancy to help prevent disabilities at childbirth. The bi-national campaign throughout the month of April includes public service announcements on TV Azteca and Azteca America, bilingual informational brochures, and website integration.
The funds will be raised for the National Network for Disability Prevention (RENAPRED for its initials in Spanish), in order to prevent disabilities among newborns and improve the quality of life for children. RENAPRED promotes and favors preventative measures starting before conception and throughout pregnancy in order to reduce disabilities at birth. The campaign will highlight helpful and easy tips to be used before, during and after pregnancy.
The 50th Movimiento Azteca is of utmost importance for both foundations because it represents a bi-national effort and raises awareness for a critical issue in both countries. "Children are our investment in tomorrow's society. Their health and the way in which we nurture them will affect the prosperity and stability of Mexico over the coming decades," said Esteban Moctezuma Barragan, President of Fundacion Azteca.
"We are proud to work with Fundacion Azteca in this 50th Movimiento Azteca because disabilities among newborn children are a problem that can be solved with the proper resources and information," said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fundacion Azteca America.
Through its foundations, Ricardo B. Salinas uses TV Azteca and Azteca America as a powerful tool to promote a positive change in society. The foundations work with other non-profit organizations providing exposure and support, while transmitting positive and empowering messages to the community.
