LAS VEGAS and LONDON, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- 3D Entertainment's filmmakers Jean-Jacques and Francois Mantello (Mantello Brothers) will present at the 2009 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas (NV) at 9:30 am on Tuesday, April 21. Pioneers in the field of live-action stereoscopic filmmaking, the Mantello Brothers will host a 60-minute session at the NAB Show's Content Theater featuring an eight-minute excerpt from their first feature-length 3D film, "Oceans 3D - Into the Deep" (working title).
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to show our colleagues exclusive content and provide a behind-the-scenes look into the making of 'Oceans 3D,' the first documentary ever to be filmed and released in Digital 3D," said Francois Mantello, the film's producer and Chairman of 3D Entertainment. For director Jean-Jacques Mantello, "The NAB Show is the perfect venue in which to share and acquire knowledge on new Digital 3D technologies and their application within the broadcast industry."
The Mantello Brothers will join, among other personalities, Josh Hollander and Bob Whitehill from Pixar Animation Studios, Kerry Shea of The Jim Jenson Company and Animal Planet's Dave Salmoni at the second edition of the NAB Show Content Theater, which showcases the most innovative cinema, television, online and mobile-filmed entertainment, and examines how it was created. Sponsored by Sony and supported by RealD, the Content Theater features a state-of-the-art 300-seat screening room centrally located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The presentation will include a special screening of never-before-seen footage from their upcoming $14.5 million feature, which is the result of six years of production, 25 challenging expeditions and 200 hours of footage filmed entirely in Digital 3D. The film will premiere in France on August 26, 2009 before its staggered release in 51 countries. US domestic and Canadian release dates are expected to be announced shortly.
"Oceans 3D - Into the Deep" is presented by Jean-Michel Cousteau and endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme. Produced by 3D Entertainment and McKinney Underwater Productions, it is a Mantello Brothers film with underwater cinematography by Gavin McKinney and features an original score by Christophe Jacquelin.
The Mantello Brothers are available for appointments to discuss "Oceans 3D" or the state of the 3D cinema industry upon request during the NAB show. Please contact Brian McWilliams or Alexandra Body to arrange a time for a meeting or interview.
