'I Will Always Love You' Cracks Adult Contemporary Charts as Connie Lines Up More TV Appearances

ALBANY, N.Y., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Since her emergence in 2007 as the original breakout superstar on the UK's hit program Britain's Got Talent -- the same Simon Cowell-hosted program currently in the news for introducing another gifted unknown, Susan Boyle -- 8-year-old Connie Talbot continues to tear up the charts with music from her debut album, Over the Rainbow (AAO Music/Reality).

Several months after the album's release, the young dynamo's latest single, a soulful interpretation of the classic "I Will Always Love You," has cracked the Top 40 on the venerable radio trade magazine FMQB's Adult Contemporary chart. Out for just three weeks, the single joins the likes of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift on the powerful tip sheet's ACQB chart, while also scoring as the publication's #3 most added single. "At 8 years of age, Connie Talbot is the youngest artist to grace the ACQB chart," confirmed FMQB's Mark LaSpina.

"I Will Always Love You," most often associated with Whitney Houston, has deep personal meaning to the young singer, as her grandmother, "Nan," sang it to Connie when she was a baby. The single also features the newly re-vocaled "You Raise Me Up," the track that closes Over the Rainbow. Sales of Over the Rainbow are stronger than ever as music fans continue to discover the young singer who has already charmed not only Mr. Cowell and his fellow judges but the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.

Connie isn't just sitting by idly while her recordings continue to conquer the charts, however. On April 30th, she will appear live on the mega-popular Fox-TV program Good Day New York. Then, on the following day, May 1st, Connie takes over the City of Brotherly Love, with an appearance on Philadelphia's WCAU-TV, NBC10. Connie will also travel to Tokyo in May, to launch her album to the Japanese market.

And further down the road, in early June, Ms. Talbot will make a personal appearance at the Electric Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, where she will perform and introduce her highly anticipated Nintendo Wii video game. Titled Connie Talbot: Over the Rainbow, the game allows Connie's fans to sing along with the music from Over the Rainbow. Its 15 tracks include "Three Little Birds," Connie's 2008 chart-topping cover version of a well-known Bob Marley tune, John Lennon's "Imagine," and the classic Louis Armstrong ballad "What a Wonderful World." Players can sing solo in karaoke mode or with friends and family members for some multiplayer fun.

Connie has also earned two Guinness World Book of Records titles, five gold and platinum albums as well as over 100 million YouTube hits, making her the #18 all-time most viewed on the site.
