The stand-up special will tape today, April 10 at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas and is set to air this fall. COMEDY CENTRAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT will release the DVD this fall.
"Nick is the real deal," said Porter. "We're all such big fans of his and we're so excited he's doing his first one-hour special for us. He's the guy our audience wants to see and after two great half-hour specials with us and his successful CD 'Party' on our label, I have no doubt this hour will be huge."
Nick Swardson, a multi-talented actor, stand-up comedian and writer, was first recognized for his stand-up at the young age of 18. In October 2007, Swardson released his debut album, "Party," through COMEDY CENTRAL Records, and it has sold more than 130,000 copies.
On the film side, Swardson is preparing for his first starring role in the Sony/Happy Madison movie, "Born to Be a Star," which he co-wrote with Adam Sandler and Allen Covert. Additionally, Swardson's script co-written with Jamie Kennedy, "Malibu's Most Wanted," was greenlit in 2003.
