W. Paul Jones Named Shopko's New CEO

GREEN BAY, Wis., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Shopko announced today that its Chief Executive Officer, Michael R. MacDonald has made a decision to leave the company to pursue another opportunity. His last day will be April 3, 2009.

Shopko also announced the appointment of W. Paul Jones, the company's President and Chief Merchandising Officer, as Shopko's new Chief Executive Officer. Jones' appointment will be effective April 6, 2009.

Jones joined Shopko in November 2007 after a successful 20-year career highlighted by senior leadership roles in the department store sector, mid-tier chain stores and big box retailers. His prior employers have included May Department Stores, Kohl's and Sears. Since joining Shopko, Jones has successfully implemented an entirely new merchandising strategy based on differentiated brands and strong promotional values.
