Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference & Expo
Tuesday, March 10 & Wednesday, March 11
Devos Place, Grand Rapids
Registration & Conference Information: www.michmab.com
"GLBC is a must attend event for anyone who is looking for better business solutions for today's economic challenges," said MAB President and CEO Karole White. "Media Professionals now, more than ever, need to take steps to build a need for their services in order to stay ahead in this highly competitive market."
GLBC 2009 was designed to address the most pressing issues that media professionals are facing in a sensitive, need-driven economy. This year's event includes: seminars with nationally renowned speakers; an interactive exhibit hall which will feature 60 exhibitors with the latest industry technology and programs; and a career fair for up and coming broadcast hopefuls.
This year's GLBC will feature Roy Williams, the Wizard of Ads, on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Roy's sessions will focus on how advertising is changing and what businesses need to know to grow and change to help meet the needs of their clients.
According to Williams, what has "always worked in the past does not work now," spending is changing and advertisers need to speak a different language to reach customers. Consumer trends show that spending is not necessarily down, however, the way consumers spend their money has changed. They are looking for sustainability and quality in the products they purchase. No longer are consumers motivated by urgency, they must be motivated by a felt need and are willing to spend money on items that have lasting benefits.
Roy will also touch on how to take advantage of the current recession by "Leap Frogging," a concept that smaller businesses can leap up and over larger, established businesses. Roy will speak on Tuesday, March 10 from 2pm-5pm and again on Wednesday, March 11 from 8am-9:30am.
GLBC features over 30 national caliber speakers and offers one of the biggest networking opportunities in the Midwest broadcasting industry. Exhibit only registration is always free. Full information is available on the MAB web site at www.michmab.com.
