Iraq War 6th Anniversary Inspires Documentary & Discussion in 5 Cities

Iraq War 6th Anniversary Inspires Documentary & Discussion in 5 Cities

HUNTINGTON, Vt., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- This week marks the sixth anniversary of the start of the Iraq War - which has resulted in the deaths of more than 4,000 Americans and countless Iraqis (estimates vary from over 100,000 to one million). This week, Dream Catcher Films, Inc. will present special screenings of Finding Our Voices in 5 cities to encourage serious policy discussions nationwide.

This award-winning documentary, narrated by Martin Sheen, tells a deeply moving story about the beliefs and sacrifices of eight diverse patriotic Americans deeply affected by U.S. foreign policy in Iraq. Following the movie, the producers and special guests at each location will host discussions about how Americans can work together to responsibly end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and see that veterans receive fair treatment.

Finding Our Voices also raises two salient questions, "Are peaceful dissent, and debate essential ingredients of a Democracy?" and "How do concerned citizens get involved?"

Film critic Rick Kosniak of the Seven Days newspaper writes, "Finding Our Voices is splendidly edited, narrated by Martin Sheen with his customary finesse and authority, and written with a terrific historical grasp. Winner of Best Political Documentary from Action on Film Festival and Best Feature Political Documentary from West Hollywood Film Festival last summer, it has screened at the Non Violent Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Washougal International Film Festival and La Femme Festival."
