Bollywood Comes to San Diego; Slumming in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Anil Kapoor, the game show host on Academy Award Winning Movie "Slumdog Millionaire", which just fetched eight Oscars, was feted at a private luncheon in San Diego on March 4, 2009 by the former owner of Hollywood studio Dreamtime, Mukesh Assomull. Anil grew up in India with La Jolla financier Mukesh Assomull.

Former port commissioner David Malcolm hosted the luncheon at Bertrand at Mister A's restaurant; present were Assomull's wife Priya, former port commissioner David Malcolm and his wife, Annie, San Diego Padres Owner John Moores; San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and his chief of staff, Kris Michell; Sam Ladeki of Sammy's Pizza; Michael Christopher, CEO of American Empire Records; and several others.

Kapoor expressed an interest in working with St. Vincent De Paul's Father Joe Facility in San Diego for homeless teens; both David Malcolm and Mukesh Assomull serve on the board and look forward to raising funds to help needy children in India.

Kapoor and Assomull are planning an event to benefit St. Vincent De Paul in San Diego mid summer of 2009.
