AFGE Radio Show to Examine U.S. Intelligence Outsourcing
Author of 'Spies for Hire' to Uncover Issue on 'Inside Government'
WASHINGTON, March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The closely guarded issue of U.S. intelligence outsourcing will be featured this week on the American Federation of Government Employees' "Inside Government" radio show. The show will air on Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m. ET nationwide on Federal News Radio at www.federalnewsradio.com and 1500 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
Tim Shorrock, author of "Spies for Hire: The Secret World of Intelligence Outsourcing," will discuss his book and the distressing information he uncovered. Shorrock will detail the prominent role private contractors play in the intelligence world -- from absorbing up to 70 percent of the U.S. intelligence budget to performing some of the most sensitive and top-level jobs.
Shorrock will provide a history of intelligence outsourcing, how it gained traction within the federal government, and his thoughts on the types of jobs that should not be outsourced. He also will discuss the future of intelligence outsourcing under the Obama administration.
