ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking for news on the latest in clean energy? Audio news reports on emerging clean energy technology, resources, infrastructure and government policy are now online at http://www.newmexicocleanenergyupdate.com/.

The New Mexico Clean Energy Update is a series of five-minute radio news reports that feature interviews with prominent scientists, engineers, teachers, students, policymakers, business leaders, public leaders, and citizens. While the program originates in New Mexico, the clean energy developments featured are applicable nationwide.

Each New Mexico Clean Energy Update story focuses on a specific project, group, person or technology as the pivot point from which to tell the larger story of how specific clean energy technologies are coming on line and integrating with the existing energy infrastructure.

Topics examined include the smart electric grid, biofuels, solar, wind and geothermal energy, green housing, recycling carbon dioxide, the water-energy connection, conservation, and more.

The program's five-minute format is ideal for public radio stations. Each episode is also available as streaming audio or free podcast downloads for individuals.

"The nation's need to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on foreign sources of fuels is urgent," says Howard Stephens, co-producer of the program. "To address these problems, new technology and America's vast clean, renewable energy resources must be brought mainstream. The New Mexico Clean Energy Update reports the latest innovations and developments to solve our energy problems and reduce our carbon footprint."

The New Mexico Clean Energy Update is written and produced by Jim Cochran, Howard Stephens, and Virginia Stephens of Vision Trust, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded to develop educational and public interest programs.
