Cox Communications to Add 5 New HD Channels to Digital Cable Line-Up on the Southside
CHESAPEAKE, Va., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications will add 5 high-definition channels to its lineup in the South Hampton Roads (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach), beginning February 26, 2009.
New HD channels include FX HD, Cartoon Network HD, Speed Channel HD, Fox News Channel HD and E! HD. With the added networks, Cox will offer HD customers more than 54 HD choices with no additional programming charge.

Expanded Service Offerings
In addition to the channel launches, Cox customers can access the below channels at no extra charge. These features are part of HD service from Cox that come to subscribers of the Expanded HD tier, who have an HD television, Cox Standard service, Digital Gateway, HD service from Cox and an HD receiver or a CableCARD.
-- ABC HD, CBS HD, NBC HD, FOX HD, CW HD, My Network HD and PBS HD
-- ESPN HD, ESPN 2 HD, Discovery HD, TNT HD and A&E HD
-- HBO HD and Showtime HD. Premium HD channels - (these channels require
a monthly subscription to the premium channel)
-- On DEMAND HD content including movies and more in the library.

The following channels will be available to residents of Hampton, James City County, York County and other areas later this year.

-- Speed Channel HD will launch on channel 763
-- Fox News Channel HD will launch on channel 764
-- E! HD will launch on channel 741.
