Latest Data from Horowitz Associates' Broadband Content and Services 2008(TM) Report to be Revealed at March 10th Breakfast Event

NEW YORK, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior executives from Cablevision, Comcast, ESPN, NBC Universal, History Channel en Espanol, GolTV, Olympusat, Time Warner Cable, Uniworld, Winglatino, Yum! Brands and others are among the companies that will be represented at the 9th Annual Horowitz Multicultural Forum dedicated to Multicultural Media for Multicultural America, taking place at the Hilton New York Hotel on March 10th from 7:00 am - noon.

This year's theme, The New Generation: Everyone - Everywhere - All the Time, will feature top industry leaders who will discuss new content trends and opportunities for multicultural and multi-ethnic audience across varying delivery technologies for TV, Internet, and mobile platforms. These challenges and opportunities will be addressed from consumer, distributor, and advertiser perspectives.

Panel discussions will reveal how traditional media is maximizing cross-platform opportunities, social networks, and online community-building to ensure that brands remain relevant and fresh for today's young, multicultural consumers.

At the Forum, Horowitz will reveal exclusive data from their latest study on the kinds of content and services that are most in demand among America's Black, Hispanic, Asian and White young consumers.

According to Horowitz Associates' Broadband Content and Services 2008(TM) Report, young, multicultural consumers are on the leading edge, embracing new media platforms; especially video-enabled handled devices. The study found that nearly nine in ten (86%) of 15 to 17 year-old Internet users have a handheld device, whether it is a cell phone (69%), an iPod or other MP3 player (66%), a PSP (31%) or a Smartphone (12%). According to the study, one quarter (26%) of 15 to 17 year-old Internet users pay for Internet access on their cell phone, compared to 11% of 35 to 49 year-old Internet users. Similarly, one quarter (24%) of 15 to 17 year-old Internet users watch video on their handheld devices on a monthly basis.
