AmericaFree.TV Helps Support Independent Filmmakers With Launch of 'Chip-In' Cup

New Feature Turns Viewers into Supporters, Allowing Them to Give To Their Favorite Indie Filmmakers as they watch.

CLIFTON, Va., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- AmericaFree.TV, a leading internet television broadcaster (www.AmericaFree.TV), announced the new "Chip-In" donation feature on its site. The groundbreaking feature created by Crispin, Porter + Bogusky gives web movie watchers the chance to become financial benefactors of their favorite indie film phenomenon.

It is the first time in history that audiences can support filmmakers online. This vanguard application creates a unique online community that introduces fledgling filmmakers to AFTV's online audience, and allows the open exchange of feedback and financial support. The launch furthers AFTV's dedication to expanding internet film and television by creating a lucrative and beneficial place for filmmakers to distribute their content.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky is an AmericaFree.TV partner and together they have created the marriage between the Internet broadcaster and the international film community. "We've been working to make AFTV the indie filmmaker's greatest ally - both in generating exposure for indie films and in generating fame and revenue for the filmmakers," said Alex Bogusky, Co-Chairman of Crispin, Porter + Bogusky. Alex went on to say, "There are great films out there sitting on dusty shelves. Instead, we want it being seen and making the filmmaker some money. It isn't easy to make money in independent film, especially in this economic climate, so it's a big deal when a new option comes along."

"In our present environment, our revenue model supports independent filmmakers three ways: more exposure for great work to millions of global viewers; an advertising split based on pre-roll or banner ad revenue; and now a "Chip-In" feature that allows the community to support the arts," said Marshall Eubanks, CEO of AmericaFree.TV.

AFTV has been adding to the enormous library of 2000 hours of movies by allowing filmmakers to easily upload their work on the site to take advantage of the audience and the Chip-In feature. The Boulder International Film Festival posted the first independent films from its participants for a "Chip-In" this week.
