Annable to help spread awareness of Foundation's mission and services
SHORT HILLS, N.J., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, the national, non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures and treatments for spinal cord injuries and improving the lives of people living with paralysis, announced today that Dave Annable, one of the stars of ABC's popular show "Brothers and Sisters," has been named a celebrity ambassador. Annable will spread awareness of the Reeve Foundation's critical mission and services.
"After seeing first-hand the impact of the Reeve Foundation's efforts, I am proud to represent an organization that is doing such amazing things for those living with spinal cord injury, as well as for their families and caregivers," said Annable. "Although I am not personally affected by paralysis, I have learned that life can change in an instant, which is why I have decided to join the Reeve Foundation in educating the public about all of its invaluable resources."
"Dave's combination of talent and charm, along with his dedication and reach to a younger demographic, makes him the perfect person to join our crusade," said Peter T. Wilderotter, president and CEO of the Reeve Foundation. "We are thrilled to welcome Dave as not only a friend of the Reeve Foundation, but as an advocate for the paralysis community."
Annable has greatly enjoyed his role as "Justin Walker" on "Brother's & Sisters," currently in its third season. His co-stars on the show are the esteemed Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rob Lowe, Rachel Griffiths, Balthazar Getty and Matthew Rhys. Prior to "Brothers & Sisters," Annable was well known for his role in "Reunion," the critically acclaimed television drama on FOX. Annable's film work includes Nick Hurran's "Little Black Book." Annable recently participated in an all-star cast benefit directed by Nora Ephron of "You Can't Take It With You." The cast included Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Martin Short, and William Shatner.
In addition to his support of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Annable has been a close friend and active supporter of Project A.L.S. for many years.
