CatholicVote.org Launches Ad on BET

Pro-Life Ad Focuses on Barack Obama's Life

CHICAGO, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The national grassroots group CatholicVote.org has released a new ad that will air repeatedly Tuesday on Black Entertainment Television in Chicago during coverage of the presidential inauguration. The :30 spot is the first in a series of ads to be released this year as a part of a new educational campaign titled Life: Imagine the Potential.

"Our message is simple: Abortion is the enemy of hope. The purpose of our new ad is to spread a message of hope about the potential of every human life, including the life of President-elect Obama," said Brian Burch, Executive Director of CatholicVote.org.

"Many Catholics and pro-life Americans recognize that Barack Obama steadfastly supports abortion. And while we'll pray for his conversion, that doesn't diminish an essential truth: that each human life has dignity and worth," said Burch.

"Given the political climate, we acknowledge that the fight to protect human life faces an uphill climb. For this reason, we developed an ad that we hope can transcend the political obstacles ahead, and provoke the consciences of our leaders and fellow Americans," continued Burch.

The ad also appears on CatholicVote.org, which launched last September, in order to educate and inspire Catholic voters. The Catholic Vote 2008 Election film was featured in the New York Times, and was watched by nearly 4 million online viewers in just eight weeks. The film was the most watched ad during the 2008 election campaign.

CatholicVote.org is a project of the Fidelis Center for Law and Policy, a 501(c)3 organization.
