Sports Illustrated Group Editor Terry McDonell announced that Michael Phelps is the 2008 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. Consumer Reports: Cell Phone Service Improves

Cell-phone service has become significantly better, judging by the results of Consumer Reports' annual survey in which 60 percent of readers were completely or very satisfied with their service. Cellular satisfaction had previously been among the worst services Consumer Reports rates -- now it is closer to the average. ABC News Anchor Charles Gibson Selected for 2008 Sol Taishoff Award

The National Press Foundation says that it will award the 2008 Sol Taishoff Award for Distinguished Contributions to Broadcast Journalism to Charles Gibson, anchor of A-B-C News "World News with Charles Gibson."

The award will be presented at N-P-F's 26th annual awards dinner, taking place February tenth at the Hilton Washington Hotel.

Gibson is the anchor of A-B-C's flagship broadcast "A-B-C's World News," as well as the network's principal anchor for breaking news, election coverage and special events. He is one of the most distinguished journalists in television with more than 40 years' experience, 33 of those at A-B-C News.
