15 international films on skiing and snowboarding will screen in
competition during the 3 day festival aimed at the general public (entrance
fee : 2 EUR and 5 EUR per day). In addition to the films, all those attending
the International Free Ride Film Festival in Saint-Lary-Soulan will be able
to participate in numerous events : contests, demonstrations by the best
riders, training for beginners, and - the Free Ride tradition - an all-night
party! "This Festival is a unique opportunity to showcase the diversity and
artistic quality of world-wide skiing and snowboarding culture. More than a
mere sport, Free Ride is an expanding sector which carries the values of a
new generation," say the organisers. "The aim is to pay hommage to the
films which have helped skiing and snowboarding to flourish."

Saint-Lary-Soulan, snowboarding station.

Here you will find the athletes and champions of the discipline, based at
the station, such as the extreme skier Bruno Compagnet or the De Le Rue
brothers, Xavier, multiple snowboard and polo World Champion, winner of a
bronze medal in boardercross (snowboard cross) at the Torino Olympic Games.
When it comes to snowboarding, Saint-Lary is indeed awash with champions...
on a daily basis! Everywhere, the terrain is a delight for riders with
state-of-the-art equipment !

During high season, Saint-Lary already welcomes a community of British
skiers and riders, attracted by the South-West of France, a region easily
accessible from Toulouse (via Easyjet) or Pau (via Ryanair). To make things
even better, a free shuttle (1 hour journey) will link the station with Pau
airport during the season 2008/2009.

The odds are that English will be widely spoken this year in Saint-Lary!

Saint-Lary is the flagship station of the Pyrénées, located a few
kilometers from the Spanish border. Saint-Lary Soulan is first and foremost a
traditional mountain village with a history and a soul. For more information:
