Emmy Winning Comedy 'Noticreo' Looks to U.S. Hispanic Market
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Noticreo, which aired on NBC's local affiliate Telemundo in Puerto Rico, is a cross between Weekend Update and a telenovela. The comedy seems to have touched a much-unattended nerve in audiences. It recently won two Emmys, one for best program and one for writing.
Noticreo comes at a time when things couldn't be worse in Puerto Rico. Crime, unemployment and corruption -- are all at an all-time high. But Noticreo pokes fun at everything, while showing the viewer how to laugh at him or herself.
This much-needed form of self-deprecating humor has never before been seen in any local comedy program in Puerto Rico.
Executive Producer Harold Jessurun, whose contract with Telemundo ended in November, plans to air Noticreo in the U.S. Hispanic market as soon as the right offer comes along.
