ATLANTA, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Trustpoint Advisors launches its national Tour for The Apostles of Comedy while making its DVDs available at mass retail stores everywhere. Drew Edwards is the President of Trustpoint and the film's Executive Producer. Apostles is often referred to as the "Christian" version of The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Mr. Edwards was exposed to Blue Collar (founded by Atlantan comedian Jeff Foxworthy) because his main client, Atlantan Ron White, was part of Blue Collar. Mr. Edwards serves as the President of "Ron White, Inc." and believes Apostles could have similar success as Blue Collar.
DISCLAIMER: Ron White is NOT affiliated with Apostles of Comedy.
Mr. Edwards Executive Produces select films and enjoys all types of entertainment. But he feels there is a need for higher quality Christian entertainment that the entire family can enjoy. Apostles started releasing September 19, 2008 via three distribution channels:
1. Direct-to-DVD retail: Ex. Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, and
rental chains include Blockbuster, Hollywood Entertainment, and
NetFlix.
2. National 62 City Tour: Starts in California November 11 and will play
in Atlanta November 23. We are using the #1 talent agency in the world,
www.CAA.com, and our Tour Producer, Don Donahue, is a business partner
with the #1 seller of Christian Music, www.MichaelWSmith.com .
3. Direct-to-Church: Passion of the Christ film was released this way.
Churches license the product for showings or buy DVDs direct at a
discount (www.wingclipscinema.com).
"Apostles served up a huge dose of needed healing to our large congregation! Learning about the person behind the comedy transformed the experience," says Jay Austin, Executive Pastor, Church at Viera. "Of the hundreds of comedians I've seen, Brad Stine is the best I've heard," said Pastor Rick Warren, author of New York Times Best Seller A Purpose Driven Life and home of the first US Presidential Debate at Saddleback Church. "Jeff Allen's routine and testimony at the National Prayer Breakfast brought the house down," says Zach Wamp, U.S. Congressman.
"There has been a growing disconnect between Hollywood and Christian entertainment. While most 'clean' comedy is boring, our comedians are truly funny, like a Bill Cosby or Jerry Seinfeld, and equally important have a Christian message," says Drew Edwards, Executive Producer and original investor. "Listen, 'Funny is Funny' and it always sells well, the best test is to see the trailer at www.ApostlesOfComedy.com," says Don Perry, Executive Consultant, an affiliate of Greenberg Traurig (our law firm and largest entertainment law firm in the USA).
Since age 25, Mr. Edwards has been a founder or co-owner in all his business ventures. After college he worked in International Sales with Motorola, living in Atlanta, Phoenix, and Hong Kong. Since, he has worked in Electronics, Dentistry, Investment Banking, Real Estate, and Entertainment. Drew has an electrical engineering degree and is 42 and single.
Trustpoint is a boutique investment and advisory firm based in Atlanta, focusing on Entertainment and Real Estate.
