Outdoor Channel Broadens Distribution With Imminent Launch on Comcast Digital Basic in Colorado

TEMECULA, Calif., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Following a renewed carriage deal with Comcast Corporation in June 2008, Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:OUTD) today announced an agreement that will reposition the Outdoor Channel network from the sports and entertainment tier to the more broadly distributed digital classic offering throughout most Comcast Digital Cable systems in Colorado. The packaging upgrade is scheduled to take place on November 4, 2008.

"We are thrilled that Outdoor Channel's strengthened affiliation with Comcast will provide more viewers throughout Colorado with America's leading hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related programming," said Thomas E. Hornish, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Outdoor Channel Holdings. "Having completed our carriage negotiations with Comcast on the corporate level earlier this year, we are now working closely at the regional level to demonstrate the added value that our improved network now brings to each system."

Bill Mosher, Regional Vice President of Marketing for Comcast Colorado, said, "Given the genuine interest of our customers in outdoor activities, providing the Outdoor Channel to a much wider audience in Colorado is a natural move that adds greater value for our digital customers. We also look forward to collaborating further with Outdoor Channel on marketing opportunities that will serve the overall interests of our customers."

Outdoor Channel estimates the packaging upgrade will result in an incremental 250,000 subscribers, but cannot predict the impact, if any, such additional paying subscribers may have on Outdoor Channel's Nielsen Universe Estimate.
