With its advanced coding and Forward Error Correction (FEC) options, DVB-S2 modulation provides broadcasters' with additional flexibility to manage inclement weather, satellite service provider limitations, and bandwidth consumption.

"We consider it imperative that our products keep pace with advancements in industry standards while offering our customers the utmost in operational flexibility," said Ned L. Mountain, President and COO of WEGENER. "In these challenging economic times, we wanted to make it easier for broadcasters to switch from DVB-S to DVB-S2 because this more efficient, advanced modulation standard can significantly reduce their bandwidth consumption and operating costs without compromising signal integrity. The orders were received in WEGENER's fourth quarter of fiscal 2008.

WEGENER's Unity 4600 was designed to meet the live broadcasting needs of professional media networks. It has built-in analog, digital A/V and ASI outputs.
