Innovative Album Features Hit Artists Including The Ting Tings, The Roots, The Aquabats, Mark Kozelek and Biz Markie, Timed to Series' Same-Day DVD Debut

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Preschoolers and parents alike will be chanting the magic words, "Yo Gabba Gabba!" as Nickelodeon and Sony BMG release the first album from the hit Nick Jr. series on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Available exclusively on iTunes, Yo Gabba Gabba! will feature 13 tracks from the series' first and second seasons, including music from The Ting Tings, The Roots, Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon and The Red House Painters. Additionally, Hip Hop legend Biz Markie lends his talent on the unique "Biz's Beat of the Day" segment.

In addition, the digital album will be available day-and-date with the release of the full-length season one DVD debut of, Yo Gabba Gabba!: The Dancey Dance Bunch!. Featuring four new-to-DVD episodes and special guest appearances by Grammy-winning musical artist Mya and award-winning actor Elijah Wood, viewers can learn simple life lessons while being entertained with upbeat music courtesy of DJ Lance Rock and everyone's favorite friendly monsters and robot, Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Toodee and Plex.

Season two of the award-winning live-action music series kicked off Sept. 22 with a week of premieres featuring some of the hippest names in movies, television, music and sports including: Melora Hardin (The Office), Jack McBrayer, Paul Scheer (30 Rock), Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns) and Jimmy Eat World ("The Middle") among others. Beginning Oct. 20, Yo Gabba Gabba! will feature a second week of brand-new episodes.

Yo Gabba Gabba!, executive produced by Charles Rivkin and Jon Berrett, stars host DJ Lance Rock (Lance Robertson) who brings to life four friendly monsters and a robot in a colorful land of music and laughter. The series highlights simple life lessons for preschoolers, through original song in short thematically linked segments, featuring animation, walk-around puppets and real kids. Yo Gabba Gabba! features an eclectic mix of music genres for preschoolers including, Pop, 80s, Electronic, New Wave, British Invasion, Hip Hop and more. Each episode culminates with an original music remix that summarizes the lessons learned.

The characters are: Muno the red cyclops, Foofa the pink flower bubble, Brobee the little green one, Toodee the blue cat-dragon and Plex the robot, who are all ready to sing, play and dance along with the viewers as soon as they hear the magic words, "Yo Gabba Gabba!" They physically engage preschoolers with interactive play and encourage them to get up and dance to the music. Yo Gabba Gabba! also features pretend-along games that teach shapes and colors, ask questions and teach new dance steps while keeping preschoolers laughing throughout the episode.

Nick Jr. is a specially designed programming block airing on Nickelodeon weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
