HDNet's 'Dan Rather Reports' to Present an Inside Perspective on the War in Iraq
'The Real Iraq' roundtable discussion features unvarnished views of the situation on the ground in Iraq from those who have directly served in the conflict
DALLAS, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- This week's "Dan Rather Reports" on HDNet presents a thought-provoking roundtable discussion on the war in Iraq from a perspective that many have never seen. The program's viewers will get a chance to hear from three Americans who have spent years in that country, fighting and chronicling the war.

"Dan Rather Reports: The Real Iraq" will feature two Marine Corps veterans with extensive on-the-battlefield experience, and who have served directly under the Commander of Coalition Forces in Iraq, General David Petraeus.
The first is Captain Anne Gildroy -- originally featured on "Dan Rather Reports" earlier this year in the "Captain Gildroy's War" episode. Captain Gildroy has studied International Security and Diplomacy at Georgetown University and served in the Marines in Iraq. She went to Harvard Business School and then returned to active duty in Iraq -- reporting directly to General Petraeus as his eyes and ears in Diwaniyah, a important, provincial capital of around 400,000 people 90 miles south of Baghdad.
Another panelist is Gildroy's partner in Iraq, U.S. Marine Captain Seth Moulton. Moulton -- a Harvard University graduate whose intelligence and insight caught the eye of his superiors -- has served four terms in Iraq, the final tour coming at the invitation of General Petraeus.
The third panelist on the program is award-winning combat photographer and journalist Lucian Read, who has been to Iraq six times since the invasion.
The context and perspective shared by each of these guests will provide an inside look at what is really going on in Iraq by those who have walked the walk.
"Dan Rather Reports: The Real Iraq" premieres on HDNet, Tuesday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET with a re-air at 11:00 p.m. ET to accommodate West Coast Prime Time.
