What: HBO in partnership with the Woodruff Arts Center's Celebrate Diversity Through the Arts Initiative and High Museum of Art will host an invitation-only screening of the HBO documentary film "THE BLACK LIST: VOL. 1." Following the film, screening guests are invited to an exhibition viewing of HISTORY REMIXED: Road to Freedom and After 1968 at the High Museum of Art.
Who: Filmmaker Elvis Mitchell will attend as a special guest. Mitchell is also a former critic for the New York Times and is currently the entertainment critic for NPR's Weekend Edition with Scott Simon.

Details: THE BLACK LIST presents dramatic portraits of some of today's most fascinating and influential African-Americans, who share their stories and insights into the struggles, triumphs and joys of black life in the U.S. The film is a collaboration between celebrated portrait photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, who directs, and award-winning journalist Elvis Mitchell, who interviews such notables as Kareem Abdul- Jabbar, Sean Combs, Thelma Golden, Lou Gossett, Jr., Bill T. Jones, Vernon Jordan, Toni Morrison, Suzanne-Lori Parks, Richard Parsons, Chris Rock, Al Sharpton, Slash, Faye Wattleton, Serena Williams, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Zane. "THE BLACK LIST: VOLUME ONE" premieres on HBO on MONDAY, AUGUST 25th at 9:00 p.m.
