Unique Electrical Partnership Fuels Construction of Historic Uranium Enrichment Facility - Now on ElectricTV.net

BETHESDA, Md., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The first uranium enrichment facility to be built on U.S. soil in more than thirty years is among the features in the latest edition of ElectricTV.net. A joint production of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), ElectricTV.net is the only Web TV program dedicated to reporting the latest developments in the electrical construction and information systems industries.

Construction of the $1.5 billion facility in New Mexico is proceeding under a unique partnership between three NECA contractors and hundreds of IBEW workers. Says Gregory Smith, CEO of Louisiana Energy Services, the plant's parent company, "These people are sophisticated, they know what they're doing. They're meeting and exceeding not only the schedule but the engineering requirements." Once complete, the plant is projected to domestically produce enough nuclear energy to meet five percent of America's power demands.

Also on the program are an interview with Dr. Patrick Moore, a founding member of Greenpeace, who reconsiders the benefits of nuclear energy; a spotlight on Helmets to Hardhats, a unique program helping returning veterans find successful careers in the building and construction trades; and a piece exploring the truth about compact fluorescent lamps.
