Texas Power Joins In the Celebration
Texas Power Supports Troops and Celebrates with Community
FRISCO, Texas, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Power once again teamed up with KLTY for the annual Celebrate Freedom weekend. The event is held to salute the troops currently fighting and those who have fought to protect America's freedom. The event combines local companies like Texas Power and renowned musical acts, such as Phil Wickham, to create an enjoyable experience for the local community. Texas Power took it an extra step this year by serving as the sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity project.

Texas Power's Desire to Serve
Texas Power chose to participate in Celebrate Freedom for several reasons. The first is to show their appreciation for the bravery and loyalty for past and present soldiers and service men and women. The second reason is to serve as a place for the community to ask questions about the current Texas deregulated electricity market which is garnering so much attention right now. With its deep roots not only in Texas but the Texas electricity market, Texas Power is very well suited to serve in this role. Texas Power jumped on the opportunity to serve as the sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity display to show their appreciation to the community they not only serve, but live in as well.
Memorable Moments
With such a large event that has so many things to offer for the general public, there were three moments that stood out.
-- Seeing so many people gather in faith and appreciation is a reassuring sight for anyone who sees it. Each year KLTY helps to show the good that still exists, and provides a means to show appreciation for those good people.
-- Watching so many Texas Power employees and volunteers crawling all over the Habitat display, hammering, nailing, lifting and thanks to the heat, sweating, gave a great example of what corporate responsibility looks like.
-- Having artists like Phil Wickham being introduced on stage by Texas Power for an event like this gives energy and affirmation to both the community and the sponsors of the event. Knowing that an accomplished artist supports the same causes so many Texans do is a great morale boost.
