Carstereoke.com will allow visitors to put their "pedal to the metal" between July 9th, 2008 and August 31, 2008, by uploading videos of themselves singing in their cars to their favorite songs, for a chance to win a Carstereoke.com prize package. The final entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and celebrities, for which the grand prize winners will receive a complete JVC Mobile Entertainment system, including the ElKameleon CD/DVD Receiver, a rock star wardrobe makeover at the Rock & Roll Religion store in Hollywood, CA, and a Fender Stratocaster Guitar. Additionally, the grand prize winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles, California, to perform at the Key Club on historic Sunset Blvd, with Carstereoke.com's featured rock performers, Steel Panther.

Chad Vogelsong, General Manager, Marketing for JVC Mobile Entertainment, and Danny Klein, Creative Director for e2amp, along with key media partners Spin Magazine, Spin.com, Streetfire.net, and Key Club will work together in the marketing and distribution of the Carstereoke.com contest. Due to the success of JVC Mobile's "Turn Me On" viral video campaign, released May 15th, 2008, Vogelsong chose another unique online branded entertainment approach to promote a lifestyle trait that most people could relate to -- singing in their cars. "Spin's ability to reach hip young music enthusiasts will not only encourage our core customer, males ages 18-35, to upload videos, but will also open doors to the potential female market that we've previously not directly touched upon," states Vogelsong.

Spin Magazine assisted JVC Mobile in co-producing a special Carstereoke.com video performance featuring comedic rock group, Steel Panther, Hollywood's most recognized rock cover/original band, known for performing in 80's hair metal attire, while captivating the audiences attention with their antics. Steel Panther wrote a song for JVC Mobile titled, "Death To All But Metal" which they perform in the video while rocking out in a black '66 Lincoln Continental. Additionally, Spin Magazine will feature print ads with Steel Panther, and Spin.com will feature online banner ads, widgets, and behind the scenes footage from the making of the Steel Panther Carstereoke.com performance.

Powered by Streetfire.net, leaders in automotive content and user- generated videos for car enthusiasts, Streetfire.net has created a custom JVC Mobile ElKameleon DVD/CD receiver video player for carstereoke.com. The custom video player features interactive buttons that work in sync while viewing Carstereoke videos online. JVC Mobile chose to feature the ElKameleon DVD/CD receiver as the prominent video player, but the promotional contest is designed to target all JVC Mobile receivers and car stereos. Streetfire.net will also support the promotional contest by displaying contest banner ads and widgets.

On July 21st, 2008, JVC Mobile and Spin will present a Carstereoke.com launch party, held at the Key Club in Hollywood, California. With it's great location on the Sunset Strip, the party will feature a special night of Steel Panther performances and other surprise guests. The Key Club building currently features a 64' by 24' billboard facing the Sunset Strip promoting the launch party. Along with integrated messaging on stage from the members of Steel Panther, concert-goers will be prompted to upload their videos at Carstereoke.com via wristbands bearing the Carstereoke.com URL and "UPLOAD AND WIN" message, which will be distributed the night of the show. "Steel Panther fans are incredibly loyal and rightfully have a lot of respect for the band. We wanted to encourage the captive audience to upload the first wave of Carstereoke videos, thus becoming the core fire-starters for the promotion," explains Creative Director, Danny Klein.

"We are thrilled to partner with the JVC Mobile team on this fantastic contest and event," says Spin President Tome Hartle. "Who does not love singing in their car? I look forward to seeing the entries."

To enter for a chance to win, contestants must upload a video (not to exceed four minutes) of their best Carstereoke performance at www.carstereoke.com or www.spin.com/carstereoke beginning July 9th, 2008 and ending August 31st, 2008. Contestants may enter as many times as they wish, but each entry must be different. Carstereoke.com does not promote the filming of videos while in a moving vehicle. Please film when vehicle is parked. Outfits and props are encouraged to capture the ultimate performance.
