Comcast Named a Best Company to Work For in Washington State
SEATTLE, July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Washington CEO Magazine has named Comcast among the Best Companies to Work For in Washington, the company announced today.
Comcast, Washington's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, ranked first among telecom companies and second among all large companies with 500 or more employees in the state. This year marked the second year in a row Comcast ranked among the best companies to work for in the state.
"We are pleased the rest of the state is discovering what our employees have known all along -- Comcast is a great place to work and build a career," said Len Rozek, senior vice president for Comcast's Washington market. "Comcast is unique among large corporations, because it retains the same small company atmosphere and family culture that it had when the company was founded more than 40 years ago."
Among the items Washington CEO Magazine said made Comcast stand out among its peers were: its virtual customer account executive work program allowing high-performing employees to work from home; a benefits package that includes tuition reimbursement; and, a dedicated training program called Comcast University. The magazine's judging panel also noted Comcast Cares Day, a company-wide day of service in which more than 2,000 local employees volunteer in communities across the state.
Washington CEO Magazine handed out its 18th annual 'Best Companies to Work For' awards after a panel of human resources professionals reviewed the responses from over 17,000 employee surveys from nearly 200 companies from around the state. The judges then reviewed the top-scoring companies from the employee surveys and picked winners in four categories (nonprofits, small, medium and large companies).
